Running for Rhett. Running for Awareness.

At RPS Apparel, we keep our business small on purpose — it gives us the time to show up for the causes that matter most to our family.

For us, that cause is autism.

Our founder, Joby Sanchez, and his wife, Stacy, have a personal connection to autism awareness: their 11-year-old son, Rhett. What started as Joby running on and off for fitness in 2023 turned into something bigger — a mission to set a healthy example for Rhett, and for kids like him everywhere.

The Journey So Far

Last year, Joby started training seriously. Six months of preparation led him to the start line of the Austin Marathon, where he ran the half marathon as a member of the Autism Society of Texas' #TeamAutism.

It was his very first race.

"I have never raced before, but the run community has a lot of eyes on it right now, and I believe this is the best way to start."

And he's not stopping there. Joby has two more challenges on the calendar — the 3-day Texas Triple and a 50-mile ultra marathon — each one another mile toward raising awareness, building acceptance, and raising money for autism causes.

"There needs to be more awareness about how to help and relate to people with Autism. I believe running can help bring communities and people together, and I want to do that around Autism."

More Than Miles

Running is just one way we show up. We've also partnered directly with the Autism Society of Texas — donating RPS gear and standing alongside their team at community events, because supporting this cause isn't a one-day thing for us. It's part of who we are.

The Autism Society of Texas believes that "the connection is you" — and we couldn't agree more. Every run, every donation, every conversation is a step toward a more understanding, more connected community.
